WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Curwen dance will be performed in Kennedy CenterApril 20, 2006 KALAMAZOO--For the first time, a dance choreographed by a Western Michigan University faculty member has been selected for performance at the national American College Dance Festival conference. David Curwen, WMU associate professor of dance, has had one of his dances selected to represent the East Central Regional Conference at the national conference May 16 to 18 in Washington, D.C. Curwen's dance "The End" will be performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. WMU dance students will perform the work, marking the third time in the past four years that the dance department has been invited to perform at the Kennedy Center. In 2005, Curwen was named to a two-year term as president-elect of CORPS de Ballet International, a professional organization dedicated to the development, exploration and advancement of ballet in higher education.
