Gold Company fills Union stage Thursday

March 28, 2006

KALAMAZOO--Gold Company, the internationally acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble of Western Michigan University, performs beginning at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Union Cabaret and Grille on the downtown Kalamazoo Mall. There is no cover charge for the performance.

Director Steve Zegree says that all 24 members of the ensemble--16 singers and eight-piece band--will perform on the Union stage Thursday.

"This will be our final public performance before our concerts in New York City at Carnegie Hall and Jazz At Lincoln Center in April," says Zegree, who is the Bobby McFerrin Professor of Jazz in the WMU School of Music.
