March 12, 2006

KALAMAZOO--Gold Company, Western Michigan University's award-winning vocal jazz ensemble directed by Dr. Stephen Zegree, will give the closing concert of the 26th Annual Gold Company Invitational Vocal Jazz Festival at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.

A limited number of general admission tickets will be available at the door for $10 each. Admission for students and senior citizens is $5.

The concert will feature new arrangements and compositions that the ensemble will present in its featured concert April 23 in New York City's famed Carnegie Hall. The ensemble is also celebrating the release of its new CD, "Absolute Integrity." The March 18 concert caps a festival day that will include performances by 25 high school and college vocal jazz ensembles from six states and Canada between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Los Angeles ensemble Sixth Wave opens this year's vocal jazz festival with a Friday, March 17, concert, also in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.
