WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News University Chorale performs at First Congregational ChurchNov. 11, 2005 KALAMAZOO--The University Chorale offers a free performance of Handel's "Let God Arise" and other works at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the First Congregational Church, 129 South Park St., Kalamazoo. Conducted by Dr. Joe Miller, the 34-member University Chorale is Western Michigan University's international award-winning chorale ensemble. "Let God Arise" is one of George Frideric Handel's most exciting choral miniatures. Written for the Duke of Chandos, the work features soloists, chorus, and orchestra in an exciting masterpiece composed by this legend of the Baroque era. The chorale also will perform selected movements from Joseph Rheinberger's "Cantus Missa" and a work by 20th century Estonian composer Veljo Tormis.
