WFS presents area debut of "Murderball"

KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents the Kalamazoo-area debut of "Murderball," Friday through Sunday, Oct. 21-23, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

"Murderball" is a documentary about quadriplegics who play full-contact rugby in Mad Max-style wheelchairs, overcoming great obstacles to compete in the Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. The film won "audience" awards at the Sundance and Indianapolis International film festivals.

The 2005 film is rated R for language and sexual content.and has a runtime of 86 minutes. Showtimes are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22, and 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23. Admission is $5 and $3 for students.
