WMU United Way drive nears two-thirds of goal

KALAMAZOO--More than 62 percent of Western Michigan University's $210,000 goal for the United Way was received in the first three weeks of the campus campaign.
As of Friday, Oct. 7, a total of $131,615 had been received in gifts and pledges from 866 WMU donors. The WMU drive officially began with a United Way open house Sept. 20 at the Bernhard Center, attended by representatives from about 30 United Way agencies.
WMU President Judith I. Bailey is serving as the community campaign chair for the Greater Kalamazoo United Way campaign, which has announced a goal of $10.3 million for 2005.
