WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS WMU United Way drive tops 50 percent of goalOct. 2, 2005 KALAMAZOO--More than 50 percent of Western Michigan University's $210,000 goal for the United Way was received in the first two weeks of the campus campaign. As of Friday, Sept. 30, a total of $112,570 had been received in gifts and pledges from 721 WMU faculty, staff, emeriti and retirees. The WMU drive officially began with a United Way open house Sept. 20 at the Bernhard Center, attended by representatives from about 30 United Way agencies. WMU President Judith I. Bailey is serving as the community campaign chair for the Greater Kalamazoo United Way campaign, which has announced a goal of $10.3 million for 2005.
