Trustee action clears way for new intersection
Feb. 21, 2005
KALAMAZOO--Acting at their Feb. 18 meeting, the trustees of Western Michigan University authorized university officials to execute the necessary documents that will allow the transfer of a small piece of university property to the city of Kalamazoo and to effect a temporary construction easement.
The move was taken to allow the city to proceed with planned work at the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and Stadium Drive. The city will reconfigure the intersection by altering existing roads and creating a new road in the vicinity of the current intersection. The new road will be built on the property transferred to the city. The university will incur no costs for the project.
