The concert is free and open to the public. With a special interest in accessible contemporary music, the duo has programmed works by William Albright, John Corigliano, Claude Debussy, John Fitz Rogers and Dutch composer Jacob ter Veldhuis, who is best known for his innovative boom box series of works which set live instruments to pre-recorded voice samples. Ter Veldhuis completed a new arrangement of one of these works especially for the duo's January tour. The saxophone and piano pairing of Frigo and Grausam, which formed at the University of South Carolina in 2003, is on a nine-day, seven-concert tour in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York and Georgia. Grausam received a Bachelor of Music degree from WMU in 2000. Media contact: Kevin West, 269 387-4678, kevin.west@wmich.edu WMU News |
