"Shaun of the Dead" shows at Little Theatre of horrors

Nov. 24, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Director Edgar Wright's horror-comedy film, "Shaun of the Dead" makes its Kalamazoo-area debut at Western Michigan University's Little Theatre presented by the Western Film Society Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 2-4.

Show times for "Shaun of the Dead" are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, and midnight Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general admission.

"Shaun of the Dead" stars Simon Pegg as Shaun; a normal bloke trapped in less-than-normal circumstances. Frustrations with his job and girlfriend, played by Kate Ashfield, are only the beginning of his problems when London is overrun with murderous zombies. Wielding a cricket bat and his own questionable sense of direction, Shaun aims to rescue humanity and then head down to the pub.

Pegg and Wright co-wrote the script, which combines a liberal dose of British humor with the frightening suspense for which classic zombie films are known . "Shaun of the Dead" has all the makings of a future cult classic.

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on Western Michigan
University's East Campus. Free off-street parking is located behind the theatre. For more information, call the movie line at (269) 387-8221 or visit the Western Film Society on the Web
