WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Grammy Award-winner Janis Siegel returns to WMUAug. 25, 2004 KALAMAZOO--Grammy award-winning jazz vocalist Janis Siegel will appear in concert Monday, Sept. 20, at 8:15 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western Michigan University. Siegel, best known as a founding member of the Manhattan Transfer, also has recorded several solo CDs. She will appear Sept. 20 with her New York jazz trio featuring pianist Alan Pasqua, bassist Darek Oles and drummer Steve Hass. Siegel has performed at WMU several times, most recently in a guest appearance at the 25th anniversary Gold Company Show at Miller Auditorium in February 2003. The Sept. 20 concert is the opening event for the WMU School of Music's 200405 Jazz Concert Series. Advance tickets are available through the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at (269) 387-2300 or can be purchased at the door. All tickets are general admission and are $15.
