More road, parking lot closings announced

May 5, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Construction and repaving will close several parking lots and roads on the Western Michigan University campus during May, in addition to those already closed for the West District Development Project.

Part of Lot 61 closed May 10-14

Beginning Monday, May 10, the west half of Parking Lot 61, which serves primarily Everett Tower, Haenicke Hall and Rood Hall will be closed for approximately one week to allow underground utilities to be placed. The Rankin Avenue entrance to Lot 61 will be closed. The east half of the lot and the Business Court entrance to Lot 61 will remain open throughout the construction.

Road to Valley 2 closed May 11-21

Beginning Tuesday, May 11, and continuing through approximately May 21, East Pond Drive will be closed for resurfacing. East Pond connects the Valley 2 residence halls, Garneau-Harvey and Eicher-LeFevre, with Goldsworth Drive.

Additional repaving work is scheduled to begin May 24 on a portion of Goldsworth Drive and West Pond Drive. More details will be announced later in WMU News.
