WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Meteorologist describes summer storm formationApril 7, 2004 KALAMAZOO--A meteorologist and pilot who is an expert on thunderstorms and the tornados that form in thunderstorm systems will speak at Western Michigan University Thursday, April 8. Dr. Donna Tucker, associate professor of geography at the University of Kansas, will give a free public presentation on "The Initiation of Summer Thunderstorms in the Rocky Mountains" at 4 p.m. in Room 2734 of Wood Hall. Tucker, who teaches weather forecasting and also is a private pilot, will speak earlier the same day to a WMU geography class made up largely of aviation majors.
