Annual Art Student Exhibition opens in Dalton Center
March 12, 2004
KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Annual Art Student
Exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays,
March 17-31, in the Dalton Center Multimedia Room. The exhibition
is closed Sundays.
The exhibition represents work done during the fall and spring
semesters. These exhibits are the only opportunity of the year
to see a comprehensive exhibit of work produced by students currently
enrolled in School of Art classes.
At an awards ceremony Monday, March 22, art students will
receive a variety of annual awards for their achievements, as
well as the exhibit awards. Several School of Art alumni also
will be recognized for their achievements in the field. The public
is invited to participate in the awards ceremony from 4 to 5:30
p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. Following the ceremony,
the exhibit will be open for viewing until 7 p.m.
Serving as judge for this year's exhibition is Robert Reed
Jr., professor of painting and printmaking at Yale University.
Reed's visit is sponsored by WMU's King-Chavez-Parks Visiting
Professors Program.
