Recital features jazz legend Slide Hampton

KALAMAZOO--Legendary jazz trombonist, composer, and arranger Slide Hampton performs with the Western Jazz Quartet, trumpeter Scott Cowan, and artist-in-residence drummer Billy Hart at 8:15 p.m. Friday, March 12, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western Michigan University.
The program features the sextet charts Hampton wrote for his famous recordings with Dexter Gordon and Woody Shaw.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens and are available from the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at 269 387-2300 or toll free 800 228-9858.
