Nominations accepted for Golden Bronco Awards

March 8, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Student Activities and Leadership Programs invites and encourages students, faculty and staff to make nominations for Western Michigan University's 2004 Golden Broncos Awards.

The SALP awards program calls attention to outstanding leadership at WMU, as demonstrated by registered student organizations, or RSOs, and the members and advisors of these organizations.

Nominations may be made for Student Leader of the Year, Advisor of the Year, Student Organization of the Year and Student Agency of the Year. A Universitywide committee composed of students and staff will select the award winners and finalists.

The Golden Bronco Awards winners and finalists will be honored at a Student Recognition Celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, in the Bernhard Center's West Ballroom. The event is being sponsored by SALP in collaboration with the Division of Multicultural Affairs and Career and Student Employment Services.

The celebration will include the presentation of several additional awards that are annually bestowed by units on campus to recognize students for their academic excellence, campus involvement and other accomplishments. In addition, every RSO that is nominated for a Golden Bronco award and meets the criteria outlined on the nomination forms will be honored as "5-Star" RSOs.

Award nominations must be submitted by March 26. Nomination forms are available online at <www.salp.wmich.edu.> and available for pick up at SALP's front desk on the main floor of the Faunce Student Services Building.
