on the campus of Western Michigan University.
The program is a preview of the group's performance two days

The Jan. 20 concert will open with a guest appearance by the
Scott Cowan Quintet, which includes WMU music faculty members
Tom Knific, Trent Kynaston and Cowan, director of the University
Jazz Orchestra.
The NYC Preview Concert also will be performed Wednesday,
Jan. 14, as part of the Dalton Convocation Series. That performance
is free and begins at 1 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.
The Scott Cowan Quintet will not appear during the Jan. 14 show.
Directed by Dr. Stephen Zegree, the Gold Company Sextet is
a select group of singers and musicians from Gold Company, WMU's
award-winning vocal jazz ensemble. In December the sextet traveled
to Eastern Europe. The ensemble was called back for four encores,
following each of their performances at packed concert halls
in Tallinn, Estonia, and Riga, Lativa. The concerts were attended
by representatives of the U.S. embassies in each nation's capital
and received rave reviews in major newspapers of both Baltic
countries.
