
Women's Chorus presents concert of 'Praise, Love, Life'

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Women's Chorus present
a free concert titled "Praise, Love, Life" Sunday,
Nov. 23, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.
The program will open with a set of sacred pieces, "Exaudi!
Laudate!, Laudate Dominum," and two Kyries. A set of three
contemporary love songs will follow featuring "Had I the
Heavens' Embroidered Cloths," "My Love Walks in Velvet"
and "Heart, We Will Forget Him." The choir will present
a Michigan premiere of an unpublished piece, titled "When
You Are Old," by Canadian composer Peter Bjerring. A delightful
set of three short songs will follow based on epitaphs taken
from headstones found in several churchyard cemeteries. The concert
will close with a lively arrangement of the French folk song,
"J'entends Le Moulin."
