Sunday's bands concert features emeriti directors

KALAMAZOO--The University Symphonic and Concert Bands present a free concert Sunday, Nov. 23, beginning at 3 p.m. in Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University.
The bands will join in celebration of WMU's centennial as they feature the return of two of the university's emeriti directors of bands, Carl Bjerregaard and Richard Suddendorf, as guest conductors. The program will feature works by Leonard Bernstein, Vincent Persichetti, and James Curnow, and the premiere of a new work by composer Michael Gandolfi entitled "Vientos y Tangos" ("Winds and Tangos").
