
Concert is tribute to Professor Emerita Davidson

KALAMAZOO -- Collegium Musicum at Western Michigan University
will present a special tribute concert to Dr. Audrey Davidson,
professor emerita of music, beginning at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
11, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The performance is free
and open to the public.
The concert will feature Giacomo Carissimi's oratorio "Jephte"
for soloists, chorus and orchestra. Soloists include music
voice faculty members Monica Griffin and Joe Miller.
Davidson retired from the School of Music in 1993, after 28
years with the University. She is a longtime supporter of the
WMU Collegium Musicum. Her works on both early and modern music
have been widely published. For 25 years, she served as the musical
director of the Society for Old Music, which regularly presents
concerts for the Kalamazoo community and the International Congress
on Medieval Studies, held annually at WMU.
