Western News not published in July or August

KALAMAZOO -- The June 19 issue of Western News, the faculty-staff newsletter of Western Michigan University will be the final issue published until the start of the fall semester. The deadline for items submitted to appear in the June 19 issue is 5 p.m. Friday, June 13.
Beginning in May, Western News went to a smaller format because of University budget constraints. For the same reason, the newsletter will not be published in July or August.
Now in its 30th year of publication, Western News will return in the new smaller format in September with the start of fall semester. Readers will continue to find the regular features and campus information columns they've come to expect. The smaller format, however, will mean less detail will be provided for most stories, and an events calendar will no longer appear in Western News.
