Budget constraints force Western News to downsize
May 8, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- Beginning with today's issue, University budget
constraints will result in a smaller format for Western News,
the faculty-staff newsletter of Western Michigan University.
Now in its 30th year of publication, Western News will continue
to appear every other week through June. Remaining issues in
the summer publication schedule are set for May 22, June 5 and
June 19. Western News will not be published in July or August.
Publication will resume in September with the start of fall semester.
Readers will continue to find the regular features and campus
information columns they've come to expect. The smaller format,
however, will mean less detail will be provided for most stories,
and the events calendar will no longer appear.
