Two faculty members named fellows in research consortium
April 3, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- Two Western Michigan University associate professors
have been named research fellows by the American Alliance for
Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Research Consortium.
Marianne Frauenknecht and Yuanlong Liu from the Department
of Health, Physical Education and Recreation join the ranks of
about 375 researchers who have achieved fellow status, one of
the most prestigious honors the Research Consortium can bestow
on a member. As fellows, Frauenknecht and Liu may hold elected
office in the Research Consortium, serve on selection committees
for honors, awards and grants; vote on governance matters; and
serve on the editorial board of the Research Quarterly for
Exercise and Sport.
The Research Consortium is made up of about 4,000 research
scholars who contribute to and promote research in the disciplines
of health, physical education, recreation and dance. The alliance's
26,000 members represent six national associations.
