Music Therapy Clinic stages annual concert
April 8, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- The Music Therapy Clinic at Western Michigan
University presents a free concert Monday, April 14, beginning
at 7 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.
This 24th annual concert will feature participants in the
music therapy clinic program and their student therapists. Performers
represent all ages and have a wide variety of physical, cognitive,
and/or emotional challenges. A reception follows the program.
The Music Therapy Clinic operates under the auspices of the
School of Music. Services are provided for residents of Kalamazoo
and the surrounding region based on self-referral or referrals
made by family members, educators, or health professionals. Under
the direct supervision of a board-certified music therapist,
student clinicians use music-based interventions to target both
musical and non-musical goals.
