How to find your true self
April 6, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- Discovering your true self will be the topic
when two life coaches speak at a Western Michigan University
lunchtime workshop Thursday, April 17.
Sharon Varricchio and Terri Vought will present "Finding
the Real Me: Who Am I--Really?" from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.
in the Federal Room of the Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce
building, 346 W. Michigan Ave. Sponsored by WMU's Women's Business
Development Center, the program is free and open to the public.
Attendees are welcome to bring lunch to the presentation.
Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve
a seat, contact WBDC Director Patricia Guenther at (269) 387-2714
or <patricia.guenther@wmich.edu>.
"It's so easy for women to get caught up in the multitude
of roles we're asked to play," says Guenther. "We're
wives, mothers, employees and so on, but it's sometimes hard
to pinpoint who we really are beyond that. Once you know who
you intrinsically, personally are, you can identify the perfect
kind of career direction for you."
In her their talk, Vought and Varricchio will help participants
learn to filter outside influences to "get acquainted with
who you are on the inside," regardless of the current role
one may be playing.
Vought, owner of Vought Enterprises, is a professional coach,
educator and motivational speaker who trained at the Coaches
Training Institute of San Rafael, Calif. She specializes in helping
clients stay focused and determine their "life purpose."
Varricchio, owner of Lighthouse Coaching Alliance, is a certified
professional coach, health professional and wellness specialist.
Her mission is to support clients in achieving balance and fulfillment
while "completely enjoying the journey." Together,
Vought and Varricchio operate V&V Associates, which provides
coaching services and team-building, productivity and communication
training.
WMU's Haworth College of Business established the Women's
