Cousineau, Lattery receive All-CCHA honorable mention
March 13, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- Two members of the Western Michigan University
hockey team have been honored by the Central Collegiate Hockey
Association. Junior right wing Dana Lattery of Cochrane, Alta.,
and junior defenseman Dave Cousineau of Waterloo, Ont., each
received All-CCHA Honorable Mention.
Lattery leads the Broncos in goals (19) and points (34), and
among CCHA players, ranks sixth in power play goals (7), seventh
in goals and 14th in scoring. The 6-foot, 220-pound team captain
recorded points in 20 of 30 games this year, including a three-goal
effort against Miami Jan. 18 in Lawson Arena. Lattery was named
No. 1 Star of the Game on four occasions as the top Bronco point
producer in the Perani Cup standings.
Cousineau, who was also named to the CCHA All-Academic Team,
paces the team in shots (99) and shares top honors in assists
(17). He leads active Broncos with 143 games played and is a
point
shy of 100 for his career. The assistant captain will likely
surpass 100 shots in a season for the third time this weekend
when WMU travels to Northern Michigan for a CCHA Tournament First
Round series, March 14-16. Cousineau also received CCHA Honorable
Mention last season.
"All the guys chosen on the first and second teams were
worthy recipients," said WMU Head Coach Jim Culhane. "It's
nice to have Dana and Dave recognized as honorable mention in
the same class as those players."
