March 19, 2003

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's award-winning vocal jazz ensemble, Gold Company, performs in concert Saturday, March 29, beginning at 8 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.

Tickets for the March 29 Gold Company concert are available at the door and are $10 per person. Students and seniors citizens will be admitted for $5.

The concert concludes the 25th annual vocal jazz festival. During the day, high school, college and university vocal jazz ensembles from nine states and Canada will perform. The Gold Company concert will serve as a prelude to the ensemble's appearance at Alice Tully Hall in New York City's Lincoln Center April 29, which will be followed by a three-week concert tour in South Africa.

Gold Company is under the direction of Dr. Stephen Zegree, professor of music, who has served as the ensemble's director for 25 years.
