
Annual Art Student Exhibition opens in Dalton Center

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's Annual Art Student
Exhibition opens in the Dalton Center Multimedia Room March 19
and runs through April 2. The free, public exhibition of this
year's top works by WMU art students is open Mondays through
Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
An awards ceremony will be held Monday, March 24, from 4 to
5:30 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The exhibit will
be open for viewing until 7 p.m. that evening. The awards ceremony
is also free and open to the public.
The student show represents work done during the fall and
spring semesters. It is the only opportunity during the year
to see a comprehensive exhibit of student work.
A separate exhibit of art by students enrolled in the Department
of Art "Foundations" classes will be on display in
the art showcases on the ground floor of Sangren Hall March 12-26.
Student show judge Martin Payton will be selecting awards from
the Sangren exhibit, as well as those for the exhibit in the
Dalton Center.
There are also several BFA Degree Shows of student works in
East Hall during the same period as the Annual Art Student Exhibition.

Bigalow and BFA Printmaking Degree Show by Leslie Christensen,
East Hall Galleries, weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reception Friday,

Graphic Design BFA Degree Shows, Jacob Kidd, Annie Berstein,
Errin Ironside, Kristy Feldpausch, Marjorie Conroy, East Hall
Galleries, weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reception Friday, March
28, 5 to 8 p.m.
March 31-April 4
BFA Photography Degree Shows by Nicole Kohmesche and Kathryn
Schregardus, East Hall Galleries, weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Reception Friday, April 4, 5 to 8 p.m.
