Keeping pace with change is business workshop topic
March 10, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- "Reinventing Yourself and Your Business"
will be the topic when a management expert speaks Thursday, March
20, as part of a series of lunchtime workshops sponsored by Western
Michigan University.
Judy Pilat, vice president of client services for Right Management
Consultants in Kalamazoo, will speak from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.
in the Federal Room of the Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce
building, 346 W. Michigan Ave. Sponsored by WMU's Women's Business
Development Center, the program is free and open to the public.
Attendees are welcome to bring lunch to the presentation.
Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve
a seat, contact WBDC Director Patricia Guenther by phone at (269)
387-2714 or via e-mail at <patricia.guenther@wmich.edu>.
"Keeping pace with rapid change in a highly competitive,
global market is forcing both organizations and individuals to
constantly reinvent themselves," says Pilat. "People
and organizations must find ways to effectively absorb the impact
of change or risk permanent damage from the shock waves. Change
can propel you to new heights or trip you up--depending on your
ability to anticipate its arrival and deal with its impact."
In her talk, Pilat will discuss analyzing one's past to help
set a course; weaving talents, abilities, interests and values
into options that make sense; translating strategy into tactics;
and measuring progress and making "course corrections."

of career transition and organization consulting services, with
