March 10, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- A Western Michigan University professor will
speak on campus Wednesday, March 12, to talk about the reasons
behind the corporate failures at AOL-Time Warner and WorldCom.
Dr. Richard A. Gershon, a professor of communication who specializes
in the telecommunications industry, will present, "The Deregulation
Paradox," at 7 p.m. in Room 208 of the Bernhard Center.
The lecture is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Ethics
in Society.
"There has been a lot of misunderstanding by the public
surrounding these scandals, but to understand what went on, it's
necessary to look at the contributing factors that resulted in
the failures at these companies," says Gerhson.

include:

featuring Sharan Levine of Levine & Levine at 7 p.m. Thursday,
