
Exhibit features art faculty and staff works

KALAMAZOO -- The WMU Department of Art is presenting an exhibition
by the department's faculty and staff members in the Dalton Center
Multimedia Room Sept. 20 through Oct. 9. The opening reception
is Friday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Phil VanderWeg, department chair says, "A primary strength
of our faculty has always been its diversity and commitment to
creative excellence. They strive to remain situated in the mainstream
of contemporary ideas and professional activity.
"This show affords a first-hand look at serious artists
who are setting trends and making news across the country and
abroad," he says.
The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
Viewing hours in the Multimedia Room are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday
through Saturday. Parking is free after 4 p.m. on Fridays in
faculty and students lots, and there is easy access for the handicapped.
