Stampede will charge up football fans
Aug. 26, 2002
KALAMAZOO -- A new student tailgate that also is open to the
general public will be harnessing WMU spirit before 2002 home
football games.
Called Bronco Stampede, the tailgate will take place in the
plaza between the Student Recreation Center and Read Fieldhouse
and feature food, music and entertainment. The alcohol-free event
will premier from 5 to 7:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, before the
7:30 p.m. CommUniverCity Night game against Indiana State.
Those attending Bronco Stampede can corral hot food from the
grill as well as kick up their heels playing novelty games that
have a football twist. The games will allow tailgaters to kick
field goals in the Equalizer challenge, test their throwing arms
in Quarter Back Challenge, and check their quickness in the Bungee
Run.
Admission is free, but food costs $5 (except for Bronco Days
participants). For more information, contact Amy Seth in University
Recreation at (269) 387-3759 or <amy.seth@wmich.edu>.
