More than 25,000 students expected for Bronco Bash
Aug. 23, 2002
KALAMAZOO -- Celebration and exploration will mark Bronco
Bash 2002, set for 3 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the Fountain
Plaza near Miller Auditorium.
More than 25,000 students are expected to converge on the
plaza for the 22nd annual event, which is a welcome-back celebration
for the University and Kalamazoo communities. Bronco Bash will
feature games, music, and nearly 400 booths where students can
peruse the wares of area merchants and get information about
University departments, student organizations and local volunteer
opportunities.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, the crowd will be treated
to music by five bands, including Orquesta Ranura, Melt, Doc
Brown, Oval Opus and hometown favorite Knee Deep Shag. As they
munch on goodies like cotton candy and elephant ears, students
can try out novelty entertainment activities like the Gladiator
Joust, Freaky Fotos, the Orbitron, Human Bowling and the Velcro
Wall.
Area radio stations will broadcast live from the event, which
is coordinated by the Campus Activities Board and the Office
of Student Activities and Leadership Programs.
Bronco Bash 2002 is sponsored by Kinko's, CenturyTel, Computer
Outfitters, 89.1 WIDR, 103.3 WKFR and 107.7 WRKR. For more information,
