
Accounting scholarships awarded

KALAMAZOO -- Sixteen students were recently awarded scholarships
by the Department of Accountancy in the Haworth College of Business
at Western Michigan University. Awarded for the 2002-03 academic
year, the scholarships recognize students for their academic
excellence and extracurricular participation in the department's
activities. The awards were presented at the annual spring banquet
of the department and Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary accountancy
fraternity.
Scholarship recipients
Naja Bessey of Bellevue, Mich., received the William
Maze Beta Alpha Psi Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of Al and Cindy Bessey of Bellevue.
Cari Burke of Benzonia, Mich., received the Yeo &
Yeo Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy and theatre,
she is the daughter of Tim and Fran Burke of Benzonia. She is
a member of the Lee Honors College.
Kimberly Dombecki of Shelby Twp., Mich., received the
Department of Accountancy Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of Leonard and Nancy Dombecki of Shelby Township.
Kelly Hernandez of South Haven, Mich., received the
Department of Accountancy Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of Raul and Wendy Hernandez of South Haven.
Kristi Kaluzny of Mt. Morris, Mich., received the David
and Sandy Rozelle Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of Henry Kaluzny of Mt. Morris and Rose Thorsby
of Clio, Mich.
Sarah Keenan of Sterling Heights, Mich., received the
Department of Accountancy Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of James and Julie Keenan of Sterling Heights.
Jillian LaLonde of Davison, Mich., received the David
and Sandy Rozelle Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of Michael and Sharon LaLonde of Davison.
Amber Law of Canton, Mich., received the Andersen Scholarship.
A senior majoring in accountancy and a member of the Lee Honors
College, she is the daughter of Bruce and Darlene Law of Canton.
Danielle Mulholland of Eaton Rapids, Mich., received
the Maner, Costerisan & Ellis Scholarship. A senior majoring
in accountancy, she is the daughter of Craig Mulholland of Sunfield,
Mich. and Karen Cataline of Eaton Rapids.
Kristin Phelps of Kalamazoo received the Department
of Accountancy Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy
and a member of the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of
Kale and Karen Phelps of Kalamazoo.
Lynn Piasecki of Lansing, Mich., received the Department
of Accountancy Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy
and a member of the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of
John and Judy Piasecki of Lansing.
Anuj Singhal of India received the PricewaterhouseCoopers
Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy and finance, he
is the son of Vinod and Manju Singhal of India. He is a member
of the Lee Honors College.
Lauren Springer of Oakley, Mich., received the Department
of Accountancy Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy
and a member of the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of
Edward and Janet Springer of Oakley.
Wendy Ulrich of Evart, Mich., received the Plante &
Moran Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy and a member
of the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of Mike and Marcia
Ulrich of Evart.
Marsha Williams of Battle Creek, Mich., received the
BDO Seidman Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy, she
is the daughter of Ralph and Cheryle Williams of Battle Creek.
Shaun Zmuda of Detroit received the Andersen Scholarship.
A junior majoring in accountancy and economics, he is the son
of Ray and Sharon Zmuda of Detroit.
