
WMU closed for holiday break

KALAMAZOO -- With very few exceptions, Western Michigan University
offices are closed for holiday break until 8 a.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 2. Classes resume Monday, Jan. 7, with the start of winter
semester.
Essential and emergency services are being maintained with
reduced staff and hours. In the event of an emergency, contact
the Department of Public Safety at 269 387-5555.
Sindecuse Health Center will be open with reduced staff from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 26-28. The center will be closed all
other days during the holiday break.
The Student Recreation Center will be open Dec. 22-23 from
noon to 4 p.m., Dec. 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Dec. 29-30
from noon to 4 p.m. The center will be closed Dec. 24-26, Dec.
31 and Jan. 1. For more information or to confirm recreation

Included among the offices closed throughout the holiday break
are the admissions office, alumni relations and development offices,
all student services offices, Waldo Library and other University
libraries, and the University Computing Center and computing
labs.
Holiday break began at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21. There are no
public events on campus for the remainder of the break. Visit

Computing services maintenance schedule
On Thursday, Dec. 27, from 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m.
WMU's computer network will be down for system upgrades and maintenance.
This includes services such as Web mail, bronco.wmich.edu, home
pages, PeopleSoft, Kronos, and various Novell servers.
On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 29-30, various administrative
systems will be down throughout the day for short periods for
maintenance. ISIS will not be affect.
