
Bronco Marching Band hits Miller stage for concert

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's Bronco Marching
Band will present its annual indoor concert on Sunday, Nov. 11,
beginning at 2 p.m. in Miller Auditorium.
General admission tickets are $9. Students and senior citizens
will be admitted for $6, and childrenunder six will be admitted
free of charge. A group discount is available. Tickets can be
purchased through the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at 616
387-2300 or toll-free at 800 228-9858.
Director William Pease promises an afternoon of fun for the
entire family as the 300-member "Sound of Western"
band closes its 2001 season. The performance will include traditional
marching band tunes as well as an assortment of special arrangements.
The Bronco Marching Band has performed more than 40 charts
from memory during its 2001 season including such popular songs
as Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with WMU clarinet professor Bradley
Wong as soloist, Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Lee Greenwood's
God Bless the USA, and an arrangement of swing tunes called Big
Noise, as well as the traditional WMU Fight Song and Alma Mater.
