
Campus Classic photos are on the Web

KALAMAZOO -- More than 30 photographs from this year's Homecoming
Campus Classic have been added to the race's Web site at <www.wmich.edu/race>.
The third annual 5K and 1K run/walk event drew more than 1,500
participants to the WMU campus on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 13.
More than 200 race volunteers and WMU staff members worked at
the event, which ended with a huge tailgate party and awards
ceremony at the center of campus near Kanley Chapel.
The men's overall winner in this year's Campus Classic 5K
run was WMU student Matthew Mayer with a time of 15:41 on the
certified 3.1 mile course. Tops among the women runners was Mel
Quisenberry of Middleville, Mich., finishing in 19:01.
Wayland (Mich.) Middle School won the team competition among
middle and high school teams entered in the race. Members of
the winning Wayland team were Jessica Armstrong (19:46), Julie
Fritz (20:53), Sarah Brewer (21:08), Tasha Fritz (22:53) and
Mario Fritz Jr. (21:15).
Winning among the WMU student teams entered was "Teenage
Dirtbags," composed of Brandon Keie (18:25), Joel Andrews
(18:43) and Zach Sullivan (20:59).
"The Bronco Express" took top honors among the non-student
teams entered. Top finishes for the the Express were Terry Hutchins
(19:35), Blaine Lam (20:31), Bill Krasean (21:06) and Francine
Bangs (27:30).

site. The annual event is hosted by the WMU Office of University
Relations and supported by more than 30 area business sponsors.
