KALAMAZOO -- Two interior designers in WMU's campus architecture
and design office were recently recognized by the Association
of University Interior Designers.
In AUID's national interior design competition, WMU's Julie
Lenczycki took third place in the "Renovations under $50,000"
category for her project that involved bedroom furnishings and
finishes in the Oaklands. Awards in the competition were made
at the AUID national conference held at Iowa State University.
Jo Morrisson, also an interior designer in campus architecture
and design, was elected to the AUID board of directors. Lenczycki
was elected as AUID publicist. Their two-year terms began in
January and continues through December 2002.
Lenczycki and Morrison are graduates of WMU's interior design
program. They were both recently named 2001 Outstanding Alumni
by the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
