
Campus emergency training begins

KALAMAZOO -- More than 200 WMU staff members will learn about
emergency planning issues and their responsibilities in the event
of a campus emergency during a conference from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday,
May 21, in the Fetzer Center.
President Elson S. Floyd, who launched the emergency planning
initiative, and Kalamazoo County Sheriff Thomas Edmonds will
give opening remarks. Other conference speakers will include
officials from the Michigan State Police and the MSU/Safe Schools
Program.
Future activities will include specialized training for some
staff members and a simulated disaster exercise. For more information,
