
Alumni invited to jazz up June with concert, reception

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's Muskegon Regional
Center invites WMU alumni to jazz up the month of June with music
and an afterglow reception, Friday, June 1.
The music will be provided by the West Shore Symphony Orchestra
and the Western Jazz Quartet, which will be performing together
at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, in Muskegon's Frauenthal
Theatre.
Immediately following the Friday performance, the Muskegon
Regional Center will play host to an afterglow reception in the
City Café on the Frauenthal Theatre's lower level.
The reception costs $7.50 per person, which may be paid at
the door, and includes food. Beverages and a broader selection
of menu items will be available for an additional charge. To

The Western Jazz Quartet is an internationally known resident
faculty ensemble in WMU's School of Music. It promotes jazz music
and jazz education through an active schedule of tours, concerts
and workshops around the globe. Recently, the quartet has been
appearing as soloists with symphony orchestras performing Patrick
William's "An American Concerto" and other works.
Tickets to the June 1 and 2 joint concerts range from $6 to
