
WMU closed due to severe winter weather

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's Kalamazoo campus
is closed today, Tuesday, Nov. 21, due to severe winter weather.
All classes are canceled, and all offices are closed, except
for essential services.
The public meeting of the Asylum Lake Focus Group, set for
this evening at the Fetzer Center, has also been canceled.
Public events will be held as scheduled
Except for the Asylum Lake meeting, today's public events
on the Kalamazoo campus will be held as originally scheduled.
University officials confirmed (as of 10 a.m.) that public events
in the Dalton Center and in University Arena will be held as
scheduled (see below) and that parking lots and campus roads
in those areas will be cleared in time for the events.
WMU's volleyball Broncos
will host a Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinal match
versus Central Michigan in University Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
Jazz legend Jean "Toots"
Thielemans will conduct a master class in the Dalton Center Recital
Hall beginning at 3 p.m. Thielemans, accompanied by pianist Fred
Hersch, will perform in the Dalton Recital Hall beginning at
8 p.m. Both events are open to the public.
