WMU hosts Florida State Brass Quintet
Oct. 3, 2000
KALAMAZOO -- WMU's School of Music will present a guest artist
recital by the Florida State Brass Quintet on Sunday, Oct. 8.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.
Admission is free.
The Florida State Brass Quintet, representing the performing
artist faculty at Florida State University, was established in
1975. The quintet has performed at many conservatories and universities
throughout the United States and has performed in Carnegie's
Weill Recital Hall and the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater.
Its appearances in Europe (Germany and Italy) include performances
by invitation of the Ministry of Culture in Rheinland-Pfalz and
the Rekkenzie Brass Quintet.
In addition to maintaining a busy performance schedule as
a quintet, the individual members sustain a full-time teaching
schedule in the Florida State University School of Music and
are involved in numerous other musical activities, including
principal positions in the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. Members
of the quintet are Bryan Goff and Scott Beckett (trumpet), Michelle
Stebleton (horn), John Drew (trombone), and Paul Ebbers (tuba).
