KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University men's soccer player Eric Pogue will continue his career at the professional level after being selected by the Hershey (Pa.) Wildcats in the second round of the A-League Draft.
Pogue, taken with the sixth pick in the second round, was one of only two Mid-American Conference student-athletes to be selected. Chris Dore of Bowling Green will be playing for Hampton Roads (Va.). The A-League is the top developmental association of Major League Soccer.
The Troy, Mich., native concluded his career with Second Team All-MAC honors and was also named to the league's all-tournament team. His efforts between the pipes helped the squad to a pair of wins over nationally ranked Notre Dame and Akron.
"This is a great opportunity for Eric (Pogue)," head coach Chris Karwoski said. "He has the talent needed to compete at the next level and will do an outstanding job of respresenting our program
