More than 170 employers at Feb. 2 Career Fair

KALAMAZOO -- Seasoned professionals as well as new graduates will be able to learn about a wide range of employment opportunities during Western Michigan University's 22nd annual Career Fair.

Career Fair 2000 will take place on campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, in the East and West ballrooms of the Bernhard Center. The free event is designed for area college and university students but members of the general public also are encouraged to attend.

The fair brings job candidates together with recruiters from local, state and national employers. It will feature more than 170 organizations from as far away as California and Florida. Some 2,500 persons are expected to turn out for this year's event. Those attending are encouraged to wear professional attire and bring an ample supply of resumes.

WMU's Career and Student Employment Services, part of the Division of Student Affairs, is sponsoring the fair in conjunction with the University's Division of Minority Affairs, chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and chapter of Delta Sigma Pi; Enterprise Rent-a-Car of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Hewitt & Associates of Lincolnshire, Ill.; Premier Recruiting Services of Kalamazoo; Steak 'n Shake of Brighton, Mich.; and Valassis Communications of Livonia, Mich.
