Bronco men win 64-61 at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- Western Michigan University's men's basketball team won, 64-61, at the University of Richmond on Tuesday, Dec. 28. The game was played in front of 3,272 fans.

With the win, the Broncos improved to 4-6 on the season. They have won three of their past four games. The only lose in that stretch was in overtime at the hands of undefeated Marshall. The Broncos also notched their second consecutive road victory of the season. They won only once on the road during the entire 1998-99 campaign.

Emil Mulic led the Broncos with 18 points. Rod Brown had 14 points, including the game-winning basket, and led all players with eight assists. Thadus Williams contributed 12 points, three assists and five steals in the WMU win. Brad Van Timmeren led the Broncos with nine rebounds and added six points.

Western returns to Mid-American Conference competition at Akron on Sunday, Jan. 2. The next home contest for the Broncos is Wednesday, Jan. 12, versus Bowling Green. That game begins at 7 p.m. at University Arena.
