Dec. 20, 1999

AMES, Iowa -- The WMU women's basketball team lost, 86-52, at Iowa State on Monday, Dec. 20. The Broncos are 2-6 overall and 1-6 on the road this season.

Monday's game concluded a four-game, 10-day road trip, during which the Broncos also lost at San Francisco (in overtime), at Nevada-Reno, and at Stanford.

First-year Bronco Kristin Koetsier and sophomore Brooke Gallert led WMU with 14 points each. Koetsier fouled out with 5:20 remaining in the contest. Brianne Gallert led the Broncos with six assists. Both Gallert twins played the entire 40 minutes.

Next action for the Broncos is Dec. 29 and 30, when they travel to the Georgia Tech Holiday Invitational in Atlanta. WMU plays host Georgia Tech on Dec. 29.

The Broncos do not play at home again until Jan. 5, 2000, when they host Toledo at 7 p.m. at University Arena. That contest is the Mid-American Conference season opener for WMU and is only the second home appearance for the Broncos (excluding exhibitions) of the 1999-2000 season.
