Capacity crowd expected as 'The Rivalry' continues

Sept. 29, 1999

KALAMAZOO -- The intensity level on the Waldo Stadium turf will be raised a notch this Saturday (Oct. 2) as Western Michigan (2-2, 1-0 MAC) and Central Michigan (1-3, 0-1 MAC) collide for their 71st meeting in football and what is believed to be the first under lights. WMU leads the all-time series, 38-29-2, with CMU holding a 6-3 edge in the 1990s.

Southwest Fest activities begin at 3:30 p.m. with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. The game can be heard live on the Bronco Radio Network and the WMU Athletic home page (www.wmich.edu/athletics) via broadcast.com. CBS affiliate WWMT-TV (Channel 3, Kalamazoo) will carry the game live.
