Board of Trustees to meet Friday, act on new programs, tuition

KALAMAZOO -- Two new bachelor's degree programs, a revised operating budget and fall 1999 tuition and fees are on the agenda for the next meeting of the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees Friday, June 25.

The meeting begins at 10:45 a.m. in the Connable Board Room of WMU's Bernhard Center. The board's two committees meet earlier in the morning, both in Room 204 of the Bernhard Center. The Budget and Finance Committee will meet at 8:45 a.m. and the Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 10 a.m.

All meetings are open to the public.

The board will be asked to approve bachelor's degrees in travel instruction and in occupational education. The revised operating budget the board is expected to approve for the University represents a final report on spending for the fiscal year that ends June 30.

The administration will recommend a 3 percent increase in tuition and required fees for the 1999 fall semester. Other agenda items include gift, grant and personnel reports and vehicle registration rates.
