KALAMAZOO --The changes the new millennium will bring to the financial services industry will be discussed when David A. Daberko, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of National City Corp., speaks at Western Michigan University Tuesday, Jan. 19, as part of the Haworth College of Business Distinguished Speaker Series. National City is the new parent corporation of the former First of America Bank.
Daberko, who has been with National City Bank since 1968, will speak on "Financial Services in the New Millennium" at 7:30 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium of Schneider Hall. Daberko was instrumental in the growth of National City Bank and led the assimilation of the former BancOhio National Bank into National City Bank. National City Bank merged with Southwest Michigan's First of America Bank in 1998. Daberko has held his current positions of chairman and CEO of National City Corp. since 1995.
Business and community leaders from Southwest Michigan as well as WMU faculty, staff and students will attend the event. The lecture is by invitation only. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
