Broncos take part in 'Take a Kid to the Game'

September 30, 1998

KALAMAZOO -- In an effort to create awareness for NCAA Football and offer an exclusive day for Kalamazoo area families to enjoy Bronco Football, Western Michigan University is participating in the national "Take A Kid To The Game" program. This special event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, when the Broncos host Northeast Louisiana. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. in Waldo Stadium.

Parents attending this game will receive a free reserved ticket for their child with each adult ticket purchase. This offer is open to all kids, ages 18 and younger. Bronco fans must mention the Take A Kid To The Game promotion when ordering tickets to receive this two-for-one offer. Tickets for this special event must be purchased in advance at the Bronco Ticket Office by Friday, Oct. 2. They can also be ordered by phone with a credit card by calling 1-888-4-WMU-TIX.

Take A Kid To The Game is a grass roots marketing campaign that was created by Host Communications, Inc. to encourage alumni and fans to take their kids out to stadiums to experience intercollegiate athletics.

"We think this is an excellent opportunity for parents to expose their daughters and sons to the pageantry of college football and the atmosphere of higher education," said Kathy Beauregard, WMU director of athletics. "We hope that many area families will take advantage of this special evening."

Genuine Chevrolet is proud to be a national sponsor of the Take A Kid To The Game program. The program is the most recent commitment that Chevrolet has made in connection with its decades-long support of collegiate athletics.

The Take A Kids To The Game national office is located in Dallas. Contact Kurt Esser (972 778-7763) with any direct questions or call the TAKG hot line at 1-800-729-9676.
